Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan’s Big Screen Collaboration In Jailer 2
One of the biggest talking points around Jailer 2 is the reported collaboration between Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan. If confirmed, this will mark the first time the two superstars share screen space, for the first time. Reports in The Hindu Tamil suggest that the duo will feature in an intense action sequence. It reported that the sequence involving Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan is said to be set in a be shot inside massive factory. The production team has also made extensive safety arrangements to ensure smooth filming.
In January 2025, the team reportedly headed to Kochi for a crucial schedule expected to feature some of the sequel’s most high-octane action sequences. Rajinikanth returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, a former jailer, and his presence in God’s Own Country quickly generated buzz. Photos and videos of his arrival went viral, increasing the excitement as the film entered its final stages of production. Anna Rajan also confirmed her inclusion in the film’s cast. Around the same time, reports suggested that Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sujith Shankar, Kottayam Nazeer, Sunil Sukhada, and Vineeth Thattil David would be playing key roles, following their inclusion in the Kerala shooting schedule.
Jailer 2's Big Star Cast
Jailer 2 continues to expand its star-studded cast, aiming for a strong pan-Indian appeal. Alongside Rajinikanth, the film features actors like Mithun Chakraborty, SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Mirnaa. Additionally, Vijay Sethupathi is expected to appear in a cameo role, reuniting with Rajinikanth after Petta.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. The film is a sequel to the 2023 hit Jailer and continues the story of Muthuvel Pandian. The technical crew includes music composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan, and editor R. Nirmal, all of whom worked on the original film. Principal photography began in March in Chennai, and the film is currently in production.
