Recently, superstar Salman Khan launched a relief drive and reportedly sent food, medicines and other essential supplies to the affected districts. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt has been vocally urging everyone to come forward and do their bit. The latest celebrity to extend support is actor Kartik Aaryan. The Chandu Champion actor has donated Rs 1 crore to the Assam CM Relief Fund.
Kartik Aaryan Donates Rs 1 Crore To Assam Flood Relief Fund
Thanking him for the donation, Assam Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma's official handle tweeted: "Gratitude to actor @TheAaryanKartik for his generous contribution of Rs 1 Crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. HCM Dr @himantabiswa appreciated his commendable gesture and timely support toward state relief measures."
Kartik himself has not posted anything about his contribution.
Bollywood Stars Come Forward For Assam
Recently, a fan page reported that Salman Khan stepped forward to support the flood victims in Assam through a phased relief drive led by Being Human. The superstar's NGO reportedly donated food, essential supplies and more to help those affected by the floods.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt recently shared a strong statement highlighting how people can help Assam amid these difficult times.
"Right now, floods are affecting so many parts of our country, with Assam being among the hardest hit, facing an incredibly challenging time. More than 60 lives have been lost. Lakhs of people have been displaced. Entire families have lost their homes, their land, their livestock... and for some, even the people they love. It happens every year, and it still catches us off guard. Assam needs immediate relief right now, and it'll need support for the long road to recovery," wrote the Alpha actress.
She added that she would be sharing ways to support relief efforts and details of organisations working on the ground.
Bhumi Pednekar, Adil Hussain, Papon and others have also come forward in support of Assam, sharing videos highlighting the on-ground realities and urging their followers to help and donate as much as they can.
According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), more than 2,12,400 people remain affected across Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat and Sivasagar districts. The government is continuing relief efforts until normalcy is restored.
