against accusations of hypocrisy. The actor took to X to respond to what he called 'rabid vegetarians' attacking non-vegetarians online.
Ranvir Shorey's stern stance in favour of vegetarians
Ranvir has never been one to mince his words, and his post on the stray dog case proves that. "Dear rabid vegetarians attacking non-vegetarians and calling them ‘hypocrites’ for being ‘animal lovers’, 'do you treat all plants the same? Do you eat all plants? Do you treat all people the same? Do you treat every man like your father? Don’t lose your common sense and intelligence on your moral high horse!" Shorey wrote.
When a netizen criticised him, saying, "Now you are loosing intelligence and control for sure," Shorey hit back sharply. "As expected, morons who can’t even discern between ‘loose’ & ‘lose’ have started barking in my replies. Enjoy reading the virtue signalling idiocy on my TL for the next few days. I know I will," he replied.

The remarks come in the wake of the Supreme Court’s August 11 order directing that all stray dogs in Delhi and the NCR be caught within eight weeks and housed in special shelters to be set up by civic authorities. The bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan made it clear that once captured, the dogs would not be released back onto the streets.
The court’s move follows growing concerns over stray dog attacks. It also ordered that anyone obstructing authorities during the captures could face contempt of court. Additionally, a helpline is to be set up in Delhi-NCR for reporting dog bite cases, with the directive that any reported dog be captured within four hours.
Shorey’s comments have sparked heated exchanges online, adding a new talking point to an already divisive debate over animal rights, public safety, and personal ethics.
