Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War is among the most talked-about films set to release in 2026. The period drama features an ensemble cast including real-life
couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The team has been filming extensively in Mumbai, with additional schedules planned in Europe. Now, the next stop for the shoot will be Madhya Pradesh, as reported by a news portal.
Love & War update
According to India Today, Bhansali will be filming in Mhow, a town in Madhya Pradesh known for its historic army base from the British era. Since the movie needs authentic period visuals, this location was chosen to capture artillery and settings from the pre-independence period.
A source told the news portal, “The team will be shooting for close to 15 days here, with major portions requiring Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor. As of now, they are on standby waiting for the permissions. Once that is cleared, they will fly to MP to kick-start the shoot."
After completing the Madhya Pradesh schedule, the cast and crew are expected to head to Italy in October for the next leg of filming, as mentioned in the report. Although the makers aim to finish shooting by the end of 2025, reports suggest that Love & War has faced delays. The film is believed to be an intense love story set against a fictional war backdrop, exploring themes of friendship, emotional bonds, and the sacrifices love demands.
For the unversed, Alia earlier worked with Ranbir in Brahmastra: Part 1 Shiva, helmed by Ayan Mukerji. She also worked with Vicky Kaushal in Raazi. Ranbir also worked with Vicky earlier in Sanju.
