Karan Johar says contestants arrived better prepared this time
Speaking about the upcoming season, Karan Johar said the response to the first edition showed that viewers had embraced a different kind of reality show. He shared that Season 2 unfolded differently because contestants entered the game already aware of its format, making them more strategic and cautious from the very beginning.
Johar also noted that the game tested relationships as trust gradually turned into suspicion and alliances continued to evolve. He added that several moments during filming surprised him, despite witnessing the events firsthand, as contestants made unexpected decisions throughout the competition.
Before unveiling the trailer, Prime Video introduced the full contestant lineup through a promotional event titled Dining Theatre of Treachery. The series is produced by Dharmatic Entertainment in association with All3Media International, while the original format was created by IDTV. Over the years, The Traitors has received both BAFTA and Emmy recognition through its international adaptations. With a new lineup, familiar gameplay and another season built around deception and strategy, The Traitors Season 2 returns to Prime Video on August 13. As the competition begins inside the palace, contestants will once again have to decide who can be trusted and who is secretly playing a different game.
