when she was replaced in a movie. Taapsee said she was dropped from a film at the hero's request. She also shared another incident of being replaced in a movie because the hero's wife didn't like her. Taapsee shared that she kept imagining reasons as to why a hero wanted her removed from a project. The actress recalled being told that the actor didn't want her in the film because she repeatedly asked the reason for her removal.

In an interview with Nayandeep Rakshit, Taapsee said, "I have been told that I was replaced by the hero of the film. God knows the reason. I keep imagining the reasons. I can imagine the insecurity."
The actress admitted that she can imagine that the actor wanted someone else whom he was closer to. Taapsee mentioned that she can imagine various reasons; however, she wasn't given a solid reason for her removal. She further recalled another incident of being dropped from a movie.
"The worst reason given to me when I was replaced was, ‘The hero’s wife doesn’t like you.’ I don’t know why she didn’t like me," added Taapsee. It is to be noted that the actress did not name any actor or actor's wife. That said, the actress recently revealed she has been turning down work to avoid being typecast. Speaking to PTI, Taapsee said everyone is going into their comfort zones and using tried-and-tested methods.
"For instance, for glamorous roles, they (industry) have a set of five actresses they can cast, and for hard-hitting, issue-based films, they have another set of five actresses to cast," she said. The actress said she started turning down movies for the same reason and told makers that audiences will easily guess the ending. She recalled telling makers not to cast them in their movies. "I’ve gone and ‘de-sold’ myself to a few films," Taapsee said.

On the work front, Taapsee was last seen in director Devashish Makhija's Gandhari. The film, written and produced by Kanika Dhillon, premiered on September 3. Currently streaming on Netflix, the movie opened to mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. The star cast also includes Ishwak Singh, Chhaya Kadam, Swastika Mukherjee and others.
