Ameesha Patel on celebrities having paid social media followers
Reacting to the trend of casting celebrities based on their social media following, Ameesha told Zoom, "It is such a misperception that if you have followers, you are going to get those numbers at the box office. 90 per cent of the followers that go into millions are bought. I speak from example where since years social media could become monetised platform to gain from, there have been agencies that approach you and say (you can get) so many million followers for so many lakh rupees."
The actress further revealed, "We all have had them approach us. A lot of these social media accounts of celebrities, in the public domain (from all arena), a lot of them (followers) are bought. The followers aren't organic. The numerous times I was approached to pay and get more followers, I said 'No, I want real organic fans'. I don't want people following because I paid them to."

Ameesha Patel on her social media presence
As the chat progressed, the Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai actress revealed that her social media posts are never planned. In fact, the actress doesn't intend to give wrong impression to anyone about having something 'choreographed and staged' on social media.
"My Instagram handle and X (formerly Twitter) page are organic. I never have a set photo session, and my pictures don't have those perfect framings, words and fonts. I am what I am. That's what I want the audience and people to know, the real side of me. Not something that is planned, choreographed and strategised and put up there that is picture-perfect. Because no one's life is picture perfect. I am not going to give this wrong impression to anyone about having something so choreographed and staged," she said, and signed off.
