Advance bookings for Avengers: Doomsday opened on Monday, right after the trailer dropped online, and fans wasted no time buying tickets. According to Sacnilk, the film has already collected over $10.5 million in presales within just 12 hours, even though only about 10 percent of total screens were part of this initial rollout.
These early tickets are only available for Infinity Vision, Disney's brand-new large-format screen experience. Most Infinity Vision shows sold out almost instantly after going live.
Box office trackers now estimate the film's opening weekend in North America could land somewhere between $230 million and $260 million, based on this early momentum alone.
Infinity Vision was created after Warner Bros locked down a big chunk of IMAX screens for Dune: Part III, which releases on the same day. Disney built its own format to compete.
