The new Avengers Endgame: Encore footage has revealed a terrifying development in the MCU's multiverse. At the TVA, Mobius and Ouroboros watch as thousands
of universes begin collapsing through catastrophic incursions. One of the most significant collisions involves Earth-10005, home to the Fox X-Men, and mysterious Earth-1127. The sequence suggests that entire realities are disappearing, setting up the massive conflict expected in Avengers: Doomsday. With the Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four potentially caught in the same multiversal crisis, the collapse could ultimately force Marvel's biggest superhero factions to unite against Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. Let's take a look at every Earth that we saw collapsing in the post-credit new footage of Endgame Encore, and the superheroes who would be facing the brunt ahead of Doomsday. Spoilers ahead for Avengers: Endgame Encore and Avengers: Doomsday
1. Earth-10005 - The X-Men's Universe
Status: Facing an incursion
Earth-10005 is the universe associated with Fox's X-Men movies. The TVA identifies it as being on a collision course with another reality. Heroes associated with this Earth include Professor Charles Xavier, Wolverine, Magneto, Cyclops, Mystique, Nightcrawler, and Gambit, along with Deadpool.
The two realities appear to launch missiles at one another before their collision. Its significance for Doomsday is enormous. The X-Men could be pulled directly into the wider MCU conflict as their universe faces destruction.
2. Earth-1127 - The Mystery Universe
Status: Facing an incursion
Earth-1127 is the unidentified reality colliding with Earth-10005. Marvel has not publicly established which superhero characters live there. The TVA footage nevertheless shows its inhabitants attempting to defend themselves, demonstrating that the multiversal crisis involves worlds that audiences may not yet know.
3. Earth-616 - The Main MCU
Status: At risk
Earth-616 remains the primary MCU reality and home to heroes including Thor, Hulk, Spider-Man, Sam Wilson/Captain America, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Shuri, Ant-Man, Wasp, Shang-Chi, Hawkeye, Yelena Belova, War Machine and Daredevil, among others.
If the incursions continue spreading, the main MCU could ultimately become part of the same survival battle.
4. Earth-828 - The Fantastic Four's Universe
Status: Key surviving reality
The Fantastic Four occupy another universe expected to play a major role in Doomsday. Its heroes include Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ben Grimm/The Thing.
Their universe gives Marvel another major superhero faction that can collide with the Avengers and X-Men.
5. Earth-400083 - Eric Bana's Hulk Universe
Status: Destroyed
The TVA sequence reportedly identifies Earth-400083, the reality associated with Eric Bana's 2003 Hulk. Its hero is Bruce Banner/Hulk. Its destruction emphasises the scale of the catastrophe, which is, entire superhero realities are already disappearing.
6. Earth-8211 - Captain Carter's Reality
Status: Destroyed
Earth-8211 is associated with the What If...? universe featuring Captain Carter. Its main hero is Captain Carter/Peggy Carter. Its destruction further establishes that the crisis extends across alternate animated and live-action realities.
7. Earth-15866 - The 2015 Fantastic Four Universe
Status: Destroyed
The TVA display also reportedly features the universe from the 2015 Fantastic Four movie. Its heroes are Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm. Its appearance is particularly notable because Marvel now has multiple Fantastic Four realities, with the newer version expected to be central to Doomsday.
8. Thousands of Unknown Earths
Status: Collapsing
Perhaps the biggest revelation is that the TVA isn't dealing with just a handful of endangered worlds. The footage suggests thousands of universes are undergoing incursions. That means the Earths shown on screen could represent only a tiny portion of the destruction.
How the collapse sets up Avengers: Doomsday
The multiversal collapse gives the Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four a common reason to fight together. The Avengers may have to work alongside mutants from Earth-10005, while the Fantastic Four become another crucial force in the battle for survival. Characters who previously existed in separate franchises could finally share the same battlefield.
At the centre of this crisis is Doctor Doom.
The new footage also reportedly teases Doom's arrival, including a sequence involving Bruce Banner and another showing Doom preparing his mask. His precise role in the collapse remains to be fully revealed.
Will every MCU hero unite against Doctor Doom?
That remains unconfirmed. However, the scale of the multiverse crisis creates the possibility of an unprecedented alliance involving the Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four. The comics' Secret Wars storyline also provides a major precedent for Doom gaining control over the remnants of a collapsing multiverse, although Marvel has not confirmed exactly how much of that storyline the movie will use.
The Endgame Encore footage therefore changes the stakes dramatically. The original Endgame was about saving Earth and the universe from Thanos. Doomsday could be about saving the remaining multiverse from collapse - and from Doctor Doom.
