The family tree that connects Prithviraj Kapoor and Surinder Kapoor’s family has its roots dating back to the era of Dewan Murli Mal Kapoor, whose son, Basheshwarnath Kapoor, gave birth to the pioneer of Bollywood’s earliest and largest film clan. Prithviraj and Surinder were cousins. While the former was Ranbir’s great-grandfather, the latter was Janhvi’s grandfather. So is Janhvi Ranbir’s cousin aunt? Prithviraj Kapoor family
Prithviraj Kapoor, the son of Basheshwarnath Kapoor, was the great-grandson of Murli Mal Kapoor. He married Ramsarni Mehra Kapoor. They had three sons – Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor. All of them were successful actors in the Hindi film industry. Raj, called the greatest showman of Indian cinema, married Krishna. Their sons are Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, and Rajiv Kapoor; the couple had daughters Ritu and Rima. Randhir and Rishi became successful film actors.
Randhir married Babita, a yesteryear actress. They have two daughters, actresses Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. Rishi married actress Neetu Singh. Their daughter is Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and son, Ranbir Kapoor. The family grew after Ranbir married actress Alia Bhatt, and they have a daughter named Raha.
Surinder Kapoor family
Surinder Kapoor is Prithviraj’s cousin. For work, he moved from Peshawar to Mumbai. Surinder, a film producer, married Nirmal Kapoor. They had three sons and one daughter. The oldest is Boney Kapoor, who was married to Mona Shourie and Sridevi. From his first marriage, he has a son, actor Arjun Kapoor, and a daughter, Anshula Kapoor. With Sridevi, who died in 2018, Boney has two daughters, actressesJanhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.
Surinder’s second son is Bollywood superstar Anil Kapoor. He is married to Sunita Kapoor and is the father of actress Sonam Kapoor, actor Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor and filmmaker-fashion stylist Rhea Kapoor. The Kapoor patriarch’s youngest son is Sanjay Kapoor, who is married to Maheep Kapoor and is the father of actress Shanaya and Jahaan Kapoor. Surinder’s daughter, Reena Kapoor Marwah, is married to Sandeep Marwah of Marwah Films and Video Studios. They have two sons, Mohit and Akshay. They’re married to Antara Motiwala and Aashita Relan, respectively.
