Netflix's Extraction universe has been very busy recently. The streamer is planning to start the third film in the franchise in 2026 with Chris Hemsworth
returning as Tyler Rake. Two more spinoffs are also planned; the series Extraction: Mercenary will be led by Lupin's Omar Sy, while the film Extraction: Taigo will star Ma Dong-seok and Lee Jin-wook. A new report reveals that Blackpink's Lisa is in talks to join the duo on the Korean action spinoff.
Lisa to star in Netflix's Extraction: Taigo
According to Allkpop, Lisa, aka Lalisa Manobal, has been offered a role in the Netflix spinoff film. She made her acting debut with HBO Max's The White Lotus earlier this year. This new action film will have a new storyline not connected to Hemsworth's movie trilogy. Train to Busan's Ma Dong-seok is leading the new Korean spinoff alongside Squid Game's Lee Jin-wook. Director Lee Sang Yong, who has worked with Ma Dong-seok on The Roundup franchise, is helming the spinoff.
Another report in ScreenRant reveals that Extraction: Taigo is set to begin production this October and end around mid-January 2026. Ma Dong-seok is reportedly playing a mercenary who takes on a dangerous mission to rescue a kidnapped colleague. Cah Woo Jin scripted the action film.
