What is the story about?
Rashmika Mandanna is gearing up for the release of her and Vijay Deverakonda's first film after marriage, Ranabaali. The period drama is set against the backdrop
of the Great Madras Famine of 1876–1878. In the film, the actress plays Jayamma, the wife of warrior Singanamala Bobbili Ranabaali. Inspired by her character, Rashmika has adopted 400 families and pledged to donate groceries for the next year. She said she had been doing her bit for a while but wanted to finally share it with her fans to inspire them. As part of the initiative, each adopted family will receive essential groceries to support them for three months.
Rashmika Mandanna Adopts 400 Families
Ranabaali actress Rashmika 'Deverakonda' on Wednesday shared the update with her fans and wrote, "There is something in the characters you play that influence you... A lot of you keep asking are there any similarities between Jayamma and me and my answer is yes - and this is one of them... this has always been me and this is also her.. and I would always keep doing things like this for all the love that you give me... but always kept it under the wraps cz I thought if I knew and just my team knew and just a bunch of us knew.. it was enough... but now I am opening up about this because I am thinking... if this could influence you lovelies out there to do anything like this.. I would be happy. So hence I thought why not start now... with this!"
She said that she had adopted 400 families and wanted to support 400 families at a time for three months each, continuing the initiative over the next year. She hoped the families could save the money they would otherwise spend on groceries and use it to save and plan their futures better. Rashmika added that even a small act of kindness could change someone's life and encouraged everyone to start with something small. She said the smiles made every sleepless night, injury, struggle, pain and tear she had endured over the years worthwhile, calling the experience priceless.
The ration kit includes 75 kg of rice, 10 kg of wheat flour, 3 kg of ragi, 10 litres of cooking oil, 15 kg of dal, 3 kg of sugar and 3 kg of salt. It also has spices and other essentials.
