Parineeti Chopra, who was last seen in the acclaimed films Amar Singh Chamkila and Shaque, is set to take on a new avatar with Reporting Live. The upcoming
thriller that takes her into the dangerous world of investigative journalism. The trailer introduces her as a determined reporter who begins investigating a tragic incident alongside her cameraman, played by Deven Bhojani. What starts as an attempt to uncover the truth soon takes the duo into the world of illegal sand mining, crime and political power. Directed by Dhruv Tripathi, the film also stars Amol Palekar, Adil Hussain and Shekhar Suman.
Parineeti Chopra Plays An Investigative Reporter In Reporting Live
Reporting Live trailer begins with a tragic incident that catches the eye of Parineeti Chopra’s journalist character and her cameraman, played by Deven Bhojani. The duo decide to investigate the matter, but their search for answers soon leads them towards an illegal sand-mining network. The trailer informs us that sand is called “brown gold” and shows the power of the business surrounding it. As the reporters begin connecting the dots, they find themselves getting closer to powerful people who have their own reasons to keep the truth hidden.
What starts as a journalistic investigation gradually turns into a fight for survival. The trailer features confrontations, encounters, chase sequences and violence, suggesting that the reporters will have to put themselves at risk to report the story.
Parineeti Chopra takes the role of a reporter. Talking about her character, the actor said, “This is my second inning with Netflix this year, in the thriller genre, but with a new avatar. I was immediately drawn to the spirit of this character, someone who is curious, fearless, and unwilling to stop until she gets to the truth.”
She said that working with the cast made the experience special and said she was looking forward to audiences “uncovering this story.”
Reporting Live Explores Illegal Sand Mining And Crime
Reporting Live is an investigation that goes beyond only one incident. As Chopra and Bhojani's characters dig deeper, every answer appears to raise another question, while every new lead brings fresh danger. Reporting Live marks the feature directorial debut of Dhruv Tripathi, who has also co-written the film with Mihir Jadhav. Partha Kiran Thakur and Joshua Shirsath serve as producers. The film brings together a talent cast, with Amol Palekar, Adil Hussain and Shekhar Suman joining Parineeti Chopra and Deven Bhojani.
Reporting Live is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on October 9, 2026.
