Meanwhile, Ram's sports drama, Peddi, registered a solid box office opening of Rs 51 crore in India. The Buchi Babu Sana directorial minted Rs 18 crore in its preview shows. After a blockbuster start, the film went on to collect Rs 26.90 crore on day two, Rs 28.85 crore on day three, and Rs 31.90 crore. After four days of its theatrical run, the movie has earned Rs 158.94 crore at the domestic box office, according to Sacnilk.
Why is Peddi receiving backlash?
While the film is doing well at the ticket window, it has also received major backlash. The makers have been at the receiving end of criticism over Janhvi's portrayal of Achiyamma in Peddi. A section of social media users feel the makers have hypers*xualised the actress in this project.
