The sad news of veteran actress Kamini Kaushal's demise has left the industry in a state of mourning. The late actress passed away at her Mumbai home at the age
of 98. Her death, confirmed by a close family friend to PTI, marks the end of a remarkable career that spanned over seven decades. Fans and celebs from the industry have poured tributes to the late actress on social media. Joining them is Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor, who shared a vintage picture of the late actress. As fans would know, Kamini's on-screen appearance was in Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha.
Kareena Kapoor pays tribute to Kamini Kaushal
Taking to her official Instagram handle on Friday, Kareena Kapoor Khan posted a beautiful vintage picture of Kamini Kaushal with her signature on it. Along with the post, Kareena also added a red heart, a rainbow and a folded hands emoticon as she extended prayers to the late actress.Take a look at the post:

Kaushal’s cinematic journey began in 1946 with the critically acclaimed film Neecha Nagar. She quickly became one of Hindi cinema’s first leading ladies and was among the earliest female stars of Indian cinema. Over the years, she appeared in a wide array of films, including Do Bhai (1947), Shaheed (1948), Nadiya Ke Paar (1948), Ziddi (1948), and Shabnam (1949), earning praise for her performances and establishing her as a prominent figure in the film industry.
During her prime, Kaushal was one of the highest-paid female actors in Bollywood, regularly sharing screen space with some of the biggest male stars of the time, including Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, and Raj Kapoor.
By the mid-1960s, Kamini Kaushal seamlessly shifted from leading roles to character parts. She continued to captivate audiences with her iconic performances in films like Shaheed (1965), Do Raaste (1969), Anhonee (1973), and Prem Nagar (1974). Even in her later years, Kaushal remained dedicated to cinema, making her final appearance in Laal Singh Chaddha (2022) at the age of 95.

Her passing was confirmed by family friend Sanjay Narain, who shared that she passed away late on Thursday night and would have turned 99 in February. Despite her long and successful career, Kaushal remained a private individual, avoiding the spotlight and maintaining a low-profile lifestyle. A source close to the family shared that they “need privacy” during this time of mourning.Kamini Kaushal is survived by her three sons, Shravan, Vidur, and Rahul.
