career in 2002 with Ek Chotisi Love Story. Since then, he has been a part of several Hindi movies. However, the actor has never chased fame just for the sake of being famous. Recently, when Zoom exclusively interviewed Ranvir during Bindiya Ke Bahubali 2 promotions, he spoke about the current trending of chasing quick fame. Apart from that, he shared his thoughts on a film's success being equated to box office numbers.

In an exclusive interaction with us, Ranvir expressed that box office numbers aren't the only barometer to know how good a film is. However, the actor admitted that the reality is that BO numbers do matter.
"In an ideal world, for me, cinema is basically a craft; it is in the world of arts and entertainment, right? It can vary. You cannot put a price on art. So, art is priceless and entertainment, sadly, is involved with money. It matters; it takes money to make a film or series, and that money has to be recovered," he told Zoom.
The actor added that a profit has to be made so that more people will invest money. "So, are box office numbers the only barometer of how good a film is? Definitely no! But the harsh reality of this business is that it matters, money matters, it does matter."
Ranvir Shorey on trend of chasing quick fame
Continuing the conversation, Ranvir shared his thoughts of latest trend of chasing quick fame. The actor admitted that he is not here because of fame. The actor stated that he didn't became an actor for fame, but he became one by 'push' and because he wanted to be a filmmaker. "I ended up being an actor because I love filmmaking. So, any fame I have, I'm interested only in fame for good work in filmmaking. I'm not interested in being famous for the sake of being famous," he said, on a parting note.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranvir's show, Bindiya Ke Bahubali 2, premiered on Amazon MX Player on January 21, 2026. Next up, he will be seen in Khosla Ka Ghosla 2. The film, co-starring Anupam Kher, is the sequel to their 2006 film, Khosla Ka Ghosla.
