Deepika Padukone, who played an integral part in Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan starrer Kalki 2898 AD, will not be a part of its much-anticipated sequel. The
major update was shared by the producers, Vyjayanthi Movies, via their official X handle. While they did not reveal the exact reason, the makers stated that 'we were unable to find a partnership'. Now, according to a latest report, the reason for the fallout has to do with Deepika assigning her dates to Allu Arjun and Atlee film. The shoot of Kalki 2898 AD sequel was scheduled to kickstart by the end of this year and Deepika reportedly gave her dates for around that time to Atlee, which did not go well with the makers of Prabhas starrer. "The sequel's shoot was planned for end of this year. However, Deepika's dates were given to her film with filmmaker Atlee instead. Both the films were supposed to be filming around the same time, and that has led to an issue between the producers and Deepika's team," a source was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
