Toxic Advance Booking Day 1: Yash’s much-awaited return to the big screen, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, is heading towards a massive opening at the box
office. With the Geetu Mohandas directorial scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 26, the film’s Day 1 advance booking has already crossed some impressive milestones, signalling enormous audience anticipation ahead of its release. As per latest data, Toxic has sold nearly 9 lakh tickets for its opening day across India, generating a gross of Rs 31.89 crore without blocked seats. When blocked seats are included, the advance booking value rises to Rs 41.03 crore.
Toxic Tickets Sold
According to tracking website Sacnilk, the latest figures show that Toxic has sold 8,94,629 tickets across 17,692 shows for Day 1. The numbers cover the film’s multiple language versions and formats, including Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, as well as premium formats such as IMAX and 4DX. The scale of the advance sales indicates that Yash’s post-KGF: Chapter 2 comeback is being met with extraordinary enthusiasm across India.
Toxic Hindi Version Top Contributors
The Hindi version of the Yash starrer has emerged as one of the biggest contributors to the advance booking haul. The standard Hindi 2D version has already sold 4,64,684 tickets, bringing in approximately Rs 15.52 crore in advance gross. The Kannada 2D version follows closely with 3,16,648 tickets sold and a gross of around Rs 13.01 crore. Tamil has contributed nearly Rs 1.08 crore from 69,567 tickets, while the Telugu and Malayalam versions have also added to the film’s growing pre-release total.
Karnataka Still Strong Market For Toxic
Karnataka remains the strongest market for Toxic. The state has recorded an advance gross of approximately Rs 14.51 crore, which rises to Rs 17.31 crore when blocked seats are included. Bengaluru alone has emerged as a major centre of demand, with the Kannada 2D version recording an advance gross of Rs 8.68 crore. Mysuru, Shivamogga and Tumakuru are also reporting strong occupancy levels, demonstrating the film’s powerful home-state following.
The Hindi market is showing equally encouraging signs. Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and West Bengal have all recorded substantial advance sales. Among the individual markets, Maharashtra has registered Rs 2.77 crore in advance gross, while Gujarat stands at Rs 2.27 crore. Delhi has contributed Rs 1.81 crore and Uttar Pradesh Rs 1.68 crore, before accounting for blocked seats.
Premium Formats For Toxic
Premium formats are also contributing to the momentum. Toxic has recorded strong occupancy in several IMAX and 4DX locations, with Bengaluru’s Kannada IMAX shows already reporting 64 per cent real occupancy and Kannada 4DX shows reaching 71 per cent.
Furthermore, while regular Toxic tickets remain relatively affordable, premium screenings are commanding significantly higher prices. Tickets are reportedly priced at around Rs 2,700 in Mumbai, Rs 2,400 in Delhi and as high as Rs 3,600 in Bengaluru.
The film is also witnessing a rush for early-morning shows. In Delhi, Toxic Hindi screenings are reportedly scheduled as early as 6am, while Mumbai audiences can catch the Yash starrer from 6:10am. Bengaluru is going even earlier, with Kannada shows reportedly beginning at 5:45am.
