Janhvi Kapoor recently impressed audiences with her role as Sundari in the film Param Sundari. She starred alongside Sidharth Malhotra, and the movie was
released in theatres on August 29. Now, according to a report by a news portal, Janhvi is considering the remake of Chaalbaaz after receiving an offer from a renowned producer. For the unversed, Janhvi’s mother, Sridevi, played the titular role in the original Chaalbaaz.
Janhvi to play lead in Chaalbaaz remake?
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “For Janhvi, Chaalbaaz is a lot more than just a film. It’s an emotion. She has jumped at the chance of playing the lead role in Chaalbaaz but is treading this with utmost caution.”
The source further added, “She is taking opinions from people around her regarding the Chaalbaaz remake. She is excited but also wary of all the comparisons. She is expected to take a call on the remake by the end of September.”
Janhvi also has Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari alongside Varun Dhawan, Rohit Saraf, and Sanya Malhotra. The team recently wrapped up shooting for the film. Coming back to Param Sundari, it was helmed by Tushar Jalota.
Param Sundari Storyline
Param Sachdev (Sidharth) is an investor who lives in Delhi with his father (Sanjay Kapoor). After multiple failed businesses, he is introduced to a dating app called Find My Soulmate. Param doesn’t trust its authenticity, but the business model appeals to him. He convinces his father to invest Rs 5 crore in the venture. To prove that the dating app could be a jackpot, Param discovers a girl in Kerala who, according to the app, is his perfect match. With low expectations, he travels to a small town in the South with his friend (Manjot Singh).
Thekkepaattu Sundari Damodar Pillai (Janhvi Kapoor) is the girl he is looking for. She has converted her mansion into a homestay after the death of her parents. Sundari also has a younger sister, Amu (Inayat Verma). At first, she is irritated with Param and his friend’s stereotypical understanding of Kerala and South India. Gradually, the gap reduces, but Sundari feels cheated when she discovers that Param’s visit to her homestay has a hidden motive. Does love conquer in the end? Will this new Heer-Ranjha find a happy ending? Param Sundari answers them in 136 minutes.
