They are protesting against the recent NEET paper leaks and the concerns of the students regarding the process. Several protestors had been on a hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.
Kangana Ranaut states protestors cannot 'arm-twist' the government
After the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament, Kangana reacted to the ongoing protests and the CJP's demand for the removal of the Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan. Speaking to ANI, the Tanu Weds Manu star shared that the monsoon parliamentary session was taking place so all the issues could be discussed in detail. She felt that the government was held accountable for all its actions and the right place to raise their questions was Parliament. However, if the protestors create a ruckus, then it is not right.
She said, "You cannot arm-twist the government into deciding who to sack and who to keep. This arm-twisting is not good." The actress also urged the protestors to get involved in politics itself. "It is the right of the government chosen by the people to decide how to run the government. If you feel so strongly, you should stand for election yourself," Kangana added.
In 2024, Kangana was named by the BJP as their candidate in the general elections. She contested her seat from her hometown, Mandi, in Himachal Pradesh.

Last year, the actress starred in, produced and directed the political drama Emergency, in which she played the former prime minister of India, Indira Gandhi. This year, she produced and starred in the feature film Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, which followed the nurses, doctors and other hospital staff at Mumbai's Cama Hospital during the 2008 terror attacks. Written and directed by Manoj Tapadia, the film failed to create a stir at the box office.
The actress is reuniting with filmmaker Vikas Bahl for the sequel to the blockbuster film Queen (2013). She has already finished shooting for Queen 2. Kangana is also reteaming with her Tanu Weds Manu co-star R. Madhavan, for the trilingual psychological thriller, Circle.
