Shah Rukh Khan's much-awaited action thriller King is reportedly entering its final stretch of production. According to the latest reports, director Siddharth
Anand and his team are preparing for one last international shooting schedule, with the United States and South America emerging as the frontrunners for the film's concluding leg. As per a report by Mid-day, a recce team forShah Rukh Khan starrer King is currently in the US exploring potential locations and working out production logistics. The team is also expected to travel to select countries in South America before taking a final call on where the remaining sequence will be filmed. While no location has been officially confirmed, the overseas schedule is likely to take place in August if everything proceeds as planned. The report adds that only one major sequence remains to be shot before King wraps production. Sources quoted by the publication claim that Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand were keen to film this portion in a relatively unexplored international location to give the action spectacle a distinctive visual appeal. The majority of King has already been completed over multiple shooting schedules. Once the final international leg is finished, the film is expected to move into post-production ahead of its planned theatrical release in December 2026. King also marks a significant milestone for the Khan family, as it introduces Suhana Khan on the big screen alongside her father. The film boasts a star-studded ensemble featuring Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma and Raghav Juyal in pivotal roles. For the unversed, this will be Shah Rukh Khan's first film since the slew of releases he had in 2023. Following a hiatus, King Khan made his way back to theatres with Siddharth Anand's Pathaan, Atlee's Jawan and Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki in 2023. In fact, Shah Rukh Khan won his first-ever National Film Award for his performance in Jawan. He received the Best Actor in a Leading Role award at the 71st National Film Awards, which honored films certified in 2023. The winners were announced on August 1, 2025, and Shah Rukh was formally presented the award by President Droupadi Murmu on September 23, 2025. He shared the Best Actor honour with Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail. Meanwhile, Suhana Khan made her digital debut with Archies in 2023 as well. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the coming-of-age musical drama marked Suhana's acting debut.
