'It Comes Down To Being Real'
When asked about the incredible love he receives from fans across the country and what makes them feel connected to the actor, Vijay Deverakonda very humbly said, "Firstly, this journey would not be anything without the people who have supported me and appreciate my work. Without the fans, this would be nothing."
He then broke down why fans root for him as much they do as he added, "Why they connect? I think it comes down to being real. I don't try to put on a mask or pretend to be someone I'm not. I share my wins, my mistakes, my struggles and everything else honestly. Fans connect with that honesty.
Vijay continued, "I try to meet them halfway too, whether it's on social media or at events. That give and take, that feeling that we're all on this journey together, is what makes the connection so strong."
In the past, the Dear Comrade star has also spoken about how he grew up with very little and how the road to stardom was anything but easy.
Vijay Deverakonda Revelling In Marital Bliss
On the personal front, 2026 has been a dream year for Vijay Deverakonda. He married his long-time partner and fellow actor Rashmika Mandanna in a private ceremony in Udaipur on February 26, 2026, in the presence of close friends and family. The wedding was intimate and heartfelt, perfectly in keeping with the couple's low-key, authentic personalities.
The couple then hosted a grand reception on March 4, 2026, at Taj Krishna in Hyderabad, which brought together members of the film fraternity and political leadership. The event was strictly invitation-only, and pictures from the night sent fans into a complete frenzy.
Vijay Deverakonda's Upcoming Movies
Professionally, Vijay has a very exciting lineup ahead. He is currently filming Ranabaali, a period action drama set in 19th-century British colonial India, directed by Rahul Sankrityan. The film, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna, is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on September 11, 2026. The fact that husband and wife are sharing screen space in a big period film has only added to the excitement.
A behind-the-scenes video shared in April 2026 showed Rashmika's complete transformation into her character, Jayamma, giving fans their first real glimpse of what to expect from the film. Vijay himself is said to be playing the title role of a freedom fighter.
He also has Rowdy Janardhana lined up, co-starring Keerthy Suresh, directed by Ravi Kiran Kola and produced by Dil Raju and Shirish. The film is scheduled for a December 2026 release and will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
