The film's impressive earnings ever on Monday has made it clear that the film isn’t slowing down anytime soon. As evident, a lot of filmmakers had postponed their film's releases to avert clash with Aditya Dhar film - including titles like Toxic, Project Hail Mary, Dacoit and more. As per a recent report, the team behind Akshay Kumar's Bhooth Bangla is now rethinking its release plan, whether to stick to April 10 or push it by a week.
Bhooth Bangla makers to postpone release amid Dhurandhar 2 wave?
A report in Bollywood Hungama quoted a source saying that the craze around Dhurandhar 2 is showing no signs of fading. While Bhooth Bangla has its own buzz, the Ranveer Singh starrer could still be pulling big numbers even in its fourth week, which overlaps with its release. Interestingly, there’s no major Hindi film lined up for April 17 at the moment.At the same time, by the end of four weeks, Dhurandhar may have already done most of its business. That could actually work in Bhooth Bangla’s favour if it releases on April 10, as a large chunk of the audience would have already watched the action film by then. For now, Akshay Kumar and Ekta Kapoor are studying the box office trend closely and are expected to take a final call within a day.
If the film sticks to April 10, the makers are planning to drop the trailer on March 27. If not, the trailer launch will be delayed. The trade is watching closely to see what Akshay and Ekta decide.
What we know about Bhooth Bangla?
The film, Bhooth Bangla, is a horror comedy and marks Akshay Kumar’s reunion with director Priyadarshan after nearly 16 years. The film also features Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal and Asrani among others.
Recently in an interview with IANS, Akshay Kumar reacted to whether Dhurandhar 2's destructive run at the box office will impact Bhooth Bangla. In the interview, the actor shared that there is a 3 week window between Dhurandhar 2 and Bhooth Bangla. The actor also shared that he is glad that the Ranveer Singh starrer is bringing good business for the film industry.
