Rani Mukerji’s mother Krishna Mukerji passed away at the age of 75. The Yash Raj Films issued an official statement on behalf of Rani Mukerji and family,
in which the actress urged people to give them space to mourn. The reason behind Krishna Mukerji’s death is still unknown. Krishna is survived by her two children, a son Raja Mukerji and a daughter Rani Mukerji. After learning about her demise, many Bollywood stars like Karan Johar, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and others visited Rani Mukerji’s house to give condolences to them. However, Kajol, who is a second cousin of the Black actress, couldn’t attend the funeral. Now, the Dilwale star has mourned the demise of her dear aunt, Krishna Mukerji, on social media with an emotional note.
Kajol Remembers Krishna Mukerji
Kajol took to her Instagram story and shared an unseen picture with Rani Mukerji’s mother, Krishna Mukerji, from the Durga Puja celebration. In the photo, Kajol is seen hugging Krishna.
She wrote, “One more star gone to make a beautiful sky. #KrishnaMukerji #RaniMukerji.” (sic)
For the unversed, Kajol shared a special bond with Rani Mukerji’s mother, Krishna Mukerji. She would often help the departed soul in climbing the stage and assist her in performing pujas during the Durga Puja celebration. Krishna Aunty's demise must have left Kajol heartbroken. The Maa actress and her husband, Ajay Devgn, were reportedly not present at the funeral.
Krishna Mukerji’s last rites were performed by the immediate family members. After the news came out, many celebrities visited Rani Mukerji’s house to mourn the loss of her mother. On the other hand, several celebrities also expressed grief on social media.

The note read, “With heavy hearts, we share that Rani Mukerji's mother Mrs Krishna Mukerji, 75, passed away this afternoon. The family is deeply grateful for your love, prayers, and support and respectfully requests privacy during this time of immense grief.” (sic)
When Krishna Mukerji Celebrated Rani Mukerji’s National Award Win
Rani Mukerji won her first Best Actress National Award for the film Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway last year. At that time, Krishna Mukerji had expressed her happiness. Krishna had said, “I am happy that she got a National Award. But (she got it) very late. She should (have gotten the award) for the film Black, I think so. But today, I am very proud of her.” Rani Mukerji also called her mother the great pillar of support in her life.
