The film is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and is inspired by the real-life events of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. The clash took place on June 15, 2020, when Indian and Chinese soldiers fought in the Galwan Valley along the Line of Actual Control. The incident became one of the most serious border confrontations between the two countries in recent years.
In the film, Salman Khan plays the role of Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment who led Indian troops during the clash. The story focuses on the bravery and sacrifices of Indian soldiers who were part of that confrontation.
Apart from Salman, the film features Chitrangda Singh as the female lead. Abhilash Chaudhary and Ankur Bhatia also play important roles. The music for the film has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya.
Maatrubhumi Release Date
The makers have not yet confirmed the exact theatrical release date for Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace. It is expected to arrive in cinemas in the coming months once filming and post-production work are completed.
Earlier, Maatrubhumi was slated to release on April 17. However, the film has now been reportedly postponed. Reports suggest that the team decided to delay the release because the film still needs more time for production and post-production work. The makers want to ensure the film looks realistic and powerful on the big screen. A new release date is expected to be announced once the remaining work on the film is finished.
Salman Khan fans are eagerly waiting to witness their favourite superstar on the big screen!
