Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravie Dubey and Namit Malhotra kicked off promotions of Ramayana in Mumbai with MrBeast. The Diwali 2026 release is a globally
mounted cinematic retelling of the Hindu epic. During the Mumbai event held today (September 26), Ranbir interacted with the renowned YouTuber and explained to him the importance of Ramayana to every Indian. Before proceeding with further promotions, Kapoor lifted a Shiv Dhanush and offered prayers. He lifted the arrow, said a prayer, and then put it back.

During the event, Ranbir started his conversation with MrBeast with Jai Shri Ram and Pavanputra Hanuman Ki Jai. The actor, who plays Lord Ram in the film, said, “Ramayana and Shri Ram are deeply etched in our subconscious mind. Lord Rama never tried to be a hero; he is called Maryada Purushottam, which means ideal man. He was born as a prince and could have had everything, but he sacrificed it all to fulfil his father’s promise and his duties. There is a term called Dharma, which means duties. He is the perfect man, and I hope through this film, you could have a brief introduction to our culture and history.”

Sai Pallavi, who plays Sita in Ramayana, lit lamps at the event while a traditional conch shell’s sound filled the air with divinity.
About Ramayana
In Ramayana, Ranbir has been cast as Rama and Sai Pallavi will be Goddess Sita. Yash is making his Bollywood debut as Ravana. Sunny Deol is Lord Hanuman, Ravi Dubey will play Lakshman, and Lara Dutta will portray Kaikeyi. Rakul Preet Singh has been chosen to play Surpanakha. Kajal Aggarwal is Mandodari, whereas Arun Govil is King Dashrath. Vivek Oberoi will play Vidyutjihva, Kunal Kapoor is Lord Indra, Adinath Kothare joins the cast as Bharat, and Mohit Raina is expected to play Lord Shiva.
Ramayana is a two-part franchise. The first releases on Diwali 2026. The second part is still in production and is scheduled for a 2027 release. Nitesh Tiwari is the director of the mythological drama. Reportedly, Ramayana releases on November 9. The English version of the film is expected to be 30 minutes shorter than the Indian language versions.
Ramayana marks Oscar-winning Hans Zimmer’s Bollywood debut as the film's soundtrack composer, along with AR Rahman. The film is produced by Namit’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
