Ranbir Kapoor and Yash's Ramayana has been mounted on a grand scale with breathtaking visuals. The mythological epic, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, will be released
in cinemas on November 8 this year. Ever since the film was announced, a lot has been said about the movie's budget. In a recent interview, producer Namit Malhotra revealed the combined budget of Ramayana's two parts. Days after Namit shared his statement, Yash, who is a co-producer on this film, has also clarified that Rs 4,000 crore is the amount which has been spent on the making, release and promotion of both installments. The second part is set to hit the silver screen next year on Diwali.
Yash Talks About Ramayana's Budget
On Aap Ki Adalat, Yash was asked how the scale of Ramayana is different from other films he has done considering its Rs 4,000 crore budget. To this, the actor said, "That is a misconception, so let me clarify it to everyone. Rs 4,000 crore is the budget for the two-part film, including release and promotion. It is the same as Hollywood."
The actor added that his co-producer Namit made the statement based on the above-mentioned reasons. According to Yash, the math is similar to Hollywood films. "A budget equal to the film, or sometimes more, they spend on promotion because it is global. But the revenue is global too," he added.
He also stated that it was essential to spend that much amount to take the Indian cinema global. According to Yash, cinema is a soft power and everyone has to work hards towads it. "Whatever happens, we will work hard and do our job properly. If not today, then tomorrow we’ll make it happen. If we don’t, someone else will - but it should happen. That is what I feel," mentioned.

Meanwhile, Ramayana will open internationally on November 6 and in India on November 8. The movie stars Ranbir as Lord Rama, Yash as demon king Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lord Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman have worked on the film's music. A few days ago, the makers unveiled the trailer of Ramayana, introducing its key characters. However, the glimpse received mixed feedback on social media.
