Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey has added another feather to its cap by crossing the Rs 100 crore gross mark at the Indian box office. With Oppenheimer,
the filmmaker's latest historical epic has become just his second film to do so in India, further cementing Nolan's appeal among Indian moviegoers. The Matt Damon-starrer opened well at the Indian box office on July 17 with a net collection of Rs 17.40 crore on Friday and surged impressively over the weekend to take its three-day total to over Rs 60 crore. The movie also stars Anne Hathaway and Tom Holland in central roles.
The Odyssey's Day 6 numbers
On its Day 6 of release, the film held steady despite the usual weekday drop-off. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, It estimated a net collection of Rs 6.50 crore across 8,268 shows on Wednesday. The figure is a drop from Tuesday's collections, but the film continues to perform consistently across premium and standard screens.
The Odyssey has grossed approximately Rs 84.15 crore net and Rs 100.38 crore gross in India, with the latest earnings, and is one of the few Hollywood releases to cross this milestone in the country.
Slight dip over the week
Post-weekend collections dropped as expected. Monday and Tuesday were stable, with earnings hovering around the Rs 8 crore mark, before Wednesday saw another dip. But the film kept pulling in audiences in thousands of screenings across the country. The sustained performance also demonstrates the film's ability to maintain the momentum beyond opening weekend, rather than just riding the wave of initial fan interest.
English version continues to lead
Backed by strong audience support and positive word of mouth, the English-language original version continues to contribute the most to the film's earnings in India. The English version has mostly contributed to the box office collections, while the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions have added to the collections. The English-language screenings continued to report the highest occupancy levels across major metropolitan markets. Much of the demand remains driven by premium large-format screens, particularly IMAX, indicative of Nolan's reputation for delivering visually immersive theatrical experiences.

The feat is another big success for Christopher Nolan in India. Earlier, Oppenheimer became one of the highest-grossing Hollywood films ever released in the country, making over Rs 128 crore in its theatrical run. Having now grossed over Rs 100 crore in its opening week, The Odyssey sees Nolan once again proving his mettle in converting ambitious big-budget storytelling into a box office event. It also becomes lead actor Matt Damon's second Rs 100 crore grosser in India.
Star-studded adaptation
Adapted from Homer's ancient Greek epic, The Odyssey follows King Odysseus on his journey home following the Trojan War, facing mythical creatures, divine interventions and perilous trials along the way.
The ensemble cast also includes Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Jon Bernthal, Himesh Patel, John Leguizamo and Mia Goth.
