D 56: Heroine, Cast, Crew
Dhanush 56 features Preity Mukundhan as the female lead. The actress, who was last seen in Idhayam Murali, and Blast, will share screen space with Dhanush in the upcoming rural entertainer. Further details about her character have not been revealed yet.
The film has an ensemble cast comprising SJ Suryah, Vadivelu, Vijay Kumar and Kaali Venkat in pivotal roles. SJ Suryah is reuniting with Dhanush after Raayan. Meanwhile, the project marks the first collaboration between Dhanush and Vadivelu.
Speaking at the launch, Vadivelu said, "After a long time, I've got the opportunity to act with Dhanush. You might ask why I did not collaborate with him earlier, and that's because of a misunderstanding." He also clarified that the film is not political and said he was "very surprised and proud" after hearing the story.
D56: Music Director And Production House
Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, who made his directorial debut with Lubber Pandhu, is the writer director of the film. Sai Abhyankkar has been roped in as the music composer. As per Times Of India, he has already composed two songs for the film.

The film is backed by Naga Vamsi and Haritha Lingusamy under Sithara Entertainment and Primark Productions. The makers are yet to announce the complete technical team.
Plot And Release Window
The upcoming film is touted to be a rural action-entertainer set against the backdrop of Madurai. While the makers are keeping the storyline under wraps, SJ Suryah described it as a "rooted story". The shoot is expected to begin next Friday in and around Melur.
The film’s launch took place at the Karuppanasamy Temple in Maranadu, Sivaganga district. Dhanush reportedly presented an 18-foot aruva to the deity, while the team organised a padayal attended by around 1,500 fans. The film is currently slated for a summer 2027 release.
Film Rumoured Title
The film is currently referred to as D56, but a social media exchange has sparked speculation about a possible title. A user suggested 'Padaiyal', getting Tamizharasan Pachamuthu to respond humorously. He dismissed the reports by denying the title.
