What is the story about?
There is a rising trend of paid negative PR in Bollywood, and many actors have openly spoken about it. From sabotaging a lead star ahead of a box office
clash to ruining the image of contemporaries, such social media campaigns have been drawing major attention. Things have become so evident that even the public has started decoding these activities. Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently shared his honest views on how the industry has changed. The acclaimed actor said the current phase has gone to an “extreme” level, where bots, false narratives, and manufactured opinions are influencing public perception. He questioned how easily people believe paid campaigns and said many things today go beyond an actor’s control.

In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Siddiqui said that the only thing within an actor’s control is giving a good performance. How far it goes is not in their hands, added the actor.
Speaking about promotions, he said that if they did not exist, people would not even see his face in real life, as he is someone who stays in the corner. He added that his work is only to give his full effort, hard work, concentration and focus to a film, and once that is done, his job is finished.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui On Paid Negative PR Trend In Bollywood
When asked about the negative campaigns, he said, "This phase is at a full extreme. Much more is left to be seen, and that too is going to happen in this phase only. So this is a strange world. I think this will remain for some time. After that, they say when bad times come, there are bad times for everything. For creativity too it is bad. For everything bad. Maybe after some years, a good time will come. People will start recognising the right things without any meaningless hatred. "
Nawaz continued, "After some years, people may understand who is what, what is truth, what is lie, on their own. I did not know that this phase would become so cheap for people that if I give money to 10 people and tell them to say he is a good actor, people will start believing it. Where did their own education go? Where did their ability to understand go? Yes, if I give money to 10 people and tell them you are very good, then the eleventh one himself will say it."
He called it strange and urged the audience to educate themselves.
Siddiqui, however, added that actors like him, carry a different kind of confidence within themselves.
On the work front, he will be next seen in Main Actor Nahin Hoon.
