Diane Keaton's demise left us all in utter despair. Actor Keanu Reeves, who worked with her in Something's Gotta Give, paid tribute to her while recalling
their working days. The duo appeared together in Nancy Meyers’ 2003 romantic comedy, where Keaton played Erica Barry, a playwright torn between a kind young doctor (Keanu Reeves) and a rich music producer (Jack Nicholson). Keaton earned an Oscar nomination for her performance, and the two later reunited as presenters at the 2020 Oscars. The actor told The Hollywood Reporter, “I had the wonderful opportunity to work with her, and she was a very special artist and person. Very unique and just what a wonderful artist.” ALSO READ: Kareena Kapoor Shares Favourite Diane Keaton Movies As She Pays Homage To Oscar-Winning Hollywood Actress Meyers penned a heartwarming note on social media as she paid tribute to Keaton. She started her post with, “As a movie lover, I’m with you all — we have lost a giant. A brilliant actress who time and again laid herself bare to tell our stories. As a woman, I lost a friend of almost 40 years — at times over those years, she felt like a sister because we shared so many truly memorable experiences. As a filmmaker, I’ve lost a connection with an actress that one can only dream of.” She continued, “When I needed her to cry in scene after scene in Something’s Gotta Give, she went at it hard and then somehow made it funny. And I remember she would sometimes spin in a kind of goofy circle before a take to purposely get herself off balance or whatever she needed to shed so she could be in the moment.” “She was fearless, she was like nobody ever, she was born to be a movie star, her laugh could make your day, and for me, knowing her and working with her — changed my life. Thank you, Di. I’ll miss you forever," added Meyers. May her soul rest in peace.
