Chiranjeevi has returned to the big screen, three years after his last film Bhola Shankar, with directorAnil Ravipudi's Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu
which released in theatres on January 12. Packed with action, humour and family sentiments, the film has appealed to fans of Megastar, with many calling it a perfect entertainer. The film tells the story of an NIA officer, who attempts to reunite his estranged family, while protecting them for an unknown assailant. Soon after the film's first shows, fans have been heaping praise on it. Following the overwhelming reception, director Anil Ravipudi visited Chiranjeevi at his residence, where the latter hugged him. The video which was posted by the filmmaker on social media, shows the Anil Ravipudi turn emotional and break down, while the veteran actor comforted him.

His heartfelt caption indicates that his bond with the veteran actor has strengthened after the film's reviews. Previously, in an interview, Anil Ravipudi spoke about his experience of directing Chiranjeevi in the film. At a press meet ahead of the release, Chiranjeevi shared his enthusiasm while working on the project, “It’s going to be a laugh riot from start to finish. Anil’s narration had me laughing out loud, we both were laughing, and I believe audiences will feel the same joy when they watch it.”
