What is the story about?
Mohanlal’s upcoming film with National Award-winning filmmaker Vishnu Mohan has finally received its official title. Earlier referred to as L367, the film has now
been named Operation Ganga and is being produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the Sree Gokulam Movies banner. The announcement has revealed details of the film that brings together talent from Malayalam cinema, Bollywood and international crews. Mohanlal’s Operation Ganga Inspired By Evacuation Mission
Written and directed by Vishnu Mohan, Operation Ganga is inspired from India’s evacuation mission during the Russia-Ukraine war. The film has already gone on floors in Georgia, while Mohanlal is expected to join the shoot soon.
The production is planned across multiple countries and Indian locations, including Poland, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Delhi, Dehradun and Kochi. The makers are reportedly planning an extensive 180-day shooting schedule, underlining the scale of the project.
The film is being produced by Gokulam Gopalan under Sree Gokulam Movies, which has several ambitious projects in its upcoming slate, including Ottakomban, Kathanar and Killer.
Arjun Rampal, Adil Hussain join Mohanlal
Alongside Mohanlal, the film features Bollywood actors Arjun Rampal, Adil Hussain and Bhagyashree Bhorse, while Parthiban is also part of the cast. The project has brought together an international technical team to support its large-scale production.
Cinematographer Miroslav Kuba Brozek, known for his work on Pushpa and Pushpa 2, is handling the camera, while Shashwat Sachdev is composing the music. Action director See Young Oh has also joined the team.
Production designer Rajeevan, editor Shameer Mohammed, sound designer Bishwadeep Chatterjee and VFX supervisor K V Sanjith are among the other key technicians. Squadron Leader Verlin Panwar has been brought on board as the military adviser, while Melvi J is handling costumes and Ronex Xavier is overseeing makeup.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal is also gearing up for several other projects. He is expected to reprise his role as Mathew in Jailer 2, sharing screen space with Rajinikanth’s Muthuvel Pandian in an extended cameo. His collaboration with director Tharun Moorthy after Thudarum, which is titled Athimanoharam, has also been wrapped after around 115 days of shooting. Mohanlal has teamed up with filmmaker Dileesh Pothan for a film titled Nedumkandam Miracle. The film marks the first collaboration between the Malayalam superstar and the acclaimed director of Maheshinte Prathikaaram.
