2026 promises to be an exciting year for Prabhas fans, who will get to watch the star in several new projects on the big screen. Last year, Prabhas thrilled
audiences by lending his voice to Mirai and by appearing in a powerful yet brief role in Kannappa. Despite not having full-fledged roles, fans were pleased with his involvement in these projects. Interestingly, Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion were also re-released as a single version titled Baahubali: The Epic, which emerged as one of the biggest re-releases. Before his pan-India stardom, Prabhas primarily catered to Telugu-speaking audiences. Films like Darling, Rebel, and Mirchi established him as a family entertainer known for action and comedy. His upcoming projects are expected to showcase him in never-seen-before avatars, including first-time collaborations with new-generation filmmakers. While one film will see him as a soldier, another will portray him as a cop. The Raja Saab Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab is set to hit theatres on January 9. The horror-comedy revolves around Prabhas’ character, who inherits an abandoned house and uncovers truths connected to his own life. The film stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar as the female leads, with Sanjay Dutt playing the antagonist. Boman Irani, Brahmanandam, and Vennela Kishore also appear in key roles. The film promises a balanced mix of romance, comedy, and horror. At its core is pan-Indian star Prabhas, who takes on a double role, further highlighting his star power. The Raja Saab has been certified UA (16+) and has an approved runtime of 189 minutes (3 hours and 9 minutes).
Fauji
Titled Fauji, the film is described as a romantic action drama set in the pre-Independence era of the 1940s. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the movie blends grandeur, nostalgia, and emotional depth. Prabhas plays a soldier in the British Indian Army whose journey intertwines with India’s freedom struggle.
The film also stars Imanvi, Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, and Jaya Prada, and is produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Sharing the film’s poster, Prabhas wrote:“Padmavyuh Vijayi Partha. Pandavpakshe Sansthit Karna. Gururvirhita Eklavya. Janmanaivach Yoddha Asha.”
Spirit
The makers of Spirit recently unveiled the much-awaited first look of Prabhas, which instantly grabbed fans’ attention. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film stars Tripti Dimri as the female lead, marking her first collaboration with the actor. The poster presents Prabhas in a raw, intense avatar, signalling a departure from his recent larger-than-life roles.Apart from Prabhas and Tripti Dimri, Spirit also features Prakash Raj and Vivek Oberoi in key roles.
Meanwhile, Salaar 2 and Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2 are still in pre-production. According to reports, filming for Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2 is expected to begin later this year, with a stronger focus on Prabhas’ Karna and Amitabh Bachchan’s Ashwatthama. Director Prashanth Neel, meanwhile, is currently occupied with his upcoming project starring Jr NTR.
