When Karan Johar asked them to name the actor known as the ‘Complete Actor’, Vijay Deverakonda responded with a playful “Me!” Karan Johar then pointed out that the title is associated with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. Both actors appeared surprised and responded, “Mohanlal sir?”
The clip got reactions from Mohanlal’s fans, some of whom questioned whether Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna were familiar with the title. Others saw the moment as a joke and mentioned that the exchange did not indicate disrespect towards the veteran actor.
Mohanlal Fans React To His Recent Film Appearances
The discussion has come at a time when some Mohanlal fans have expressed disappointment over his recent supporting appearances. His limited screen time in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 left sections of the audience wanting more. Fans also expressed frustration over a moment featuring Mohanlal that appeared in the trailer but was absent from the film’s final version. Director Nelson Dilipkumar also faced criticism from some viewers.
Mohanlal’s role in Mahesh Narayanan’s Patriot, which features Mammootty, has also got reactions following the character’s early exit from the story.
Mohanlal has not publicly responded to the criticism. During the release of L2: Empuraan, he said he was open to cameo roles in films featuring major stars, provided his schedule allowed it. “I am ultimately an actor,” he said. The Malayalam superstar has also announced new collaborations with prominent filmmakers. His upcoming films include Athimanoharam, scheduled to release on December 24, 2026, and Operation Ganga, which is slated to hit theatres on March 18, 2027. He has also joined hands with director Dileesh Pothan for Nedumkandam Miracle.
Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are sharing screen space in Ranabaali. The film reunites the pair following their 2019 release Dear Comrade.
