Aditya Dhar and the makers of Dhurandhar 2 are in no hurry to put the film on streaming. After an uninterrupted Rs 1600 crore run at the global box office,
it holds itself strong despite a gradual decline. The spy thriller will be streaming on JioHotstar. Normally, films arrive on OTT two months after their theatrical release. With Dhurandhar 2, there might be a delay due to various reasons; one being its steady box office run at present. According to reports, JioHotstar is yet to assign a schedule for its digital premiere because of IPL 2026.
Dhurandhar 2 OTT release update
As per a Filmibeat report, Dhurandhar 2’s streaming schedule on JioHotstar has been affected because of IPL 2026 and the spectacular viewership that it has been drawing. The tournament ends on May 31 after the completion of 74 matches. According to early reports, it was scheduled for an earlier release. Now, Dhurandhar 2 will premiere on the OTT giant by the end of May or early June.
Dhurandhar on Netflix
Dhurandhar’s first part released on December 5, 2025. The makers had locked a deal with Netflix for its post-theatrical release. The film arrived on January 30. The espionage drama missed the entire Gulf market due to content restrictions. UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman had banned its theatrical release because of its anti-Pakistan theme. Netflix opened access for the audience in the UAE. Dhurandhar can be streamed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Hours after Dhurandhar arrived on Netflix, a section of netizens expressed disappointment, claiming the film was censored for its OTT premiere. However, it was soon clarified that no changes were made to the original print and the version that released in theatres was streaming as it is.
Dhurandhar 2 post-theatrical rights
As per reports, Netflix had locked a post-theatrical streaming deal for Rs 85 crore, which included the first part of the film. Dhurandhar 2 will be heading to JioHotstar after exhausting its run at the box office. The deal is said to be worth Rs 150 crore.
