the actor has reportedly quit the crime thriller. And now, it is being reported that Ranveer is focusing on Jai Mehta's zombie thriller, Pralay. According to a recent media report, Ranveer will apparently reunite with Alia Bhatt for Pralay. The actress is reportedly being considered for the female lead's role. If this happens, it will be their third project after Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Gully Boy. Read on to know more about the development.
Alia Bhatt being considered for Pralay?
Industry sources informed Mid-Day that Jai Mehta's first pick for the female lead is Alia Bhatt. "The female lead is central to the narrative. She isn’t introduced as a love interest. She challenges the hero’s ideas in a collapsing world. Who could wield that power better than Bhatt? She brings credibility. In a film this experimental, you need powerhouses and actors the audience’s trust," a source said.
And while the discussions haven't begun yet, the makers are reportedly keen to initiate conversations in January. The film is apparently being designed as a survival drama. And it is set in a ravaged near-apocalyptic Mumbai following a catastrophic outbreak.
"The world [of Pralay] is harsh, resources are scarce, and every character is pushed to moral breaking points. This is not a glossy zombie film," the source added.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranveer was recently seen in Dhurandhar. The actor played the lead role in Aditya Dhar's spy thriller. As for Alia Bhatt, the actress will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. It is set to release in 2026.
