Kareena Kapoor is one of the top actresses in the industry today, she has been ruling hearts for decades. Recently, she was seen rocking the Rohit Shetty
starrer Singham Again co-starring Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, and Akshay Kumar, among others. She was also seen recently in Hansal Mehta's The Buckingham Murders, a film that follows a grieving cop whose child was murdered before she ultimately moves to another town where she investigates the disappearance of a missing child. She has always been very vocal about her concerns and controversies and recently, she openly talked about Bollywood's biggest debate topic: nepotism.
Kareena Kapoor Khan On Nepotism
In a recent interview, the actress accepted that she is privileged; she also believes that one can only survive in this industry with talent, consistency, and audience acceptance. In a conversation with We The Women by Barkha Dutt, Khan said, "Nepotism can get you a debut, not a life-long career. The audience acceptance decides your fate, not your surname."
On the same debate, Aadar Jain, brother of Armaan Jain, the creator of Dining With The Kapoors, told ETimes, "People discuss nepotism, but I haven’t reaped its rewards. Sure, I am Raj Kapoor’s grandson, and I am cousins with Kareena and Ranbir Kapoor, but that doesn’t mean I get to star in 50 films a year or continuously sign brand deals and endorsements. Sadly, in that regard, I haven’t been a product of nepotism."
Work Front
On the professional front, the actress will be next seen in Meghna Gulzar's next, titled Daayra. The project is also to have Mollywood actor Prithviraj Sukumaran in a key role.
In September, Kareena announced that she has begun shooting for Meghna Gulzar’s directorial, titled Daayra. She took to social media to share the news, posting a behind-the-scenes video that offers a sneak peek into the team’s preparations over the past few months. The actress also dropped pictures with legendary writer-lyricist Gulzar.
