Janhvi Kapoor's Work Front
On the professional front, Janhvi Kapoor was last seen in Telugu action drama Peddi, which released in theaters on June 4, 2026. Following the film's release, several viewers criticised the way her character, Achiyyamma, was presented, with particular objections to camera angles that appeared to focus excessively on her body. A scene featuring Ram Charan's character kissing her without consent also sparked conversations about the portrayal of women and consent in cinema. The backlash prompted director Buchi Babu Sana to issue an apology, clarifying that there was no intention to objectify or disrespect women. Some of the controversial portions were subsequently edited or removed from the theatrical cut.
Janhvi later addressed the criticism on Koffee With Karan 9, admitting that the film involved "extreme objectification" and expressing regret over not using her position and privilege to speak up more firmly during filming.
