Shruti Haasan on working with Rajinikanth in Coolie
Talking to India Today, Shruti said, “What really makes Coolie stand out for me is, first of all, the experience of working with a director like this and being part of such an amazing star cast. Sharing screen space with Rajini Sir truly felt like a full-circle moment. But most of all, I really connected with the character I’ve played - I genuinely enjoyed bringing Preeti to life. I just hope audiences feel the same way about her as I did while playing her."
More about Coolie
Expressing gratitude to his entire team for pouring their hearts into making his upcoming action entertainer Coolie, featuring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, director Lokesh Kanakaraj, on Thursday (August 7) told his entire team that he was proud of them. The director, who had offered prayers on Thursday at the popular Shiva temple in Tiruvannamalai ahead of the release of his upcoming film, took to his X timeline to pen a post of gratitude.
He wrote, "With #Coolie unleashing in just a few days, I want to take a moment to thank the entire team who poured their hearts into it - 140 days of shoot spread over 2 years! This project has been incredibly close to my heart. Proud of you boys!."
Earlier on Thursday, video clips of the ace director visiting the famous Tiruvannamalai temple and offering prayers ahead of the film's release began doing the rounds on social media.
The film has triggered huge expectations for a number of reasons. Rumours doing the rounds in the industry suggest that director Lokesh Kanakaraj's much-awaited action entertainer may well reach audiences in over 100 countries around the world when the film hits screens on August 14 this year.
Apart from Rajinikanth, the film also stars stalwarts from the Indian film industry like Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Shruti Haasan in pivotal roles.
A trailer that was released by the makers recently has only added to the hype and excitement. From the trailer, it is evident that Rajinikanth is a close friend of Sathyaraj and has been maintaining a low profile until the tim realises his friend is in grave danger. He chooses to come to Sathyaraj's aid despite Sathyaraj's daughter Shruti Haasan's protests.
It may be recalled that the Censor Board has cleared the explosive action entertainer for release with an A certificate. The film getting an A certificate has got a section of the audience concerned.
Family audiences and children form a considerable chunk of actor Rajinikanth's fan base and Coolie getting an 'A' certificate will mean families will be unable to take their children to theatres to watch the eagerly awaited film.
