Hollywood’s biggest night is here as the film industry’s brightest stars gather to find out who will take home one of cinema’s most prestigious honours
- the Oscars. The 98th Academy Awards are taking place at the iconic Dolby Theatre, celebrating the best films released in 2025. The ceremony began at 4:00 PM local time in Los Angeles (7:00 PM ET / 11:00 PM GMT) on Sunday, March 15. For Indian viewers, the awards are being streamed on JioHotstar on March 16, with an on-demand replay available after the live broadcast. In the United States, the event is being televised on ABC and streamed on Hulu. Comedian and television host Conan O'Brien has returned as the host of the ceremony for the second consecutive year, guiding audiences through the star-studded evening. This year’s Oscars have generated significant buzz even before the winners were announced. One of the biggest talking points is Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler, which made history with a record-breaking 16 nominations — the most ever received by a single film in Academy Awards history. The previous record of 14 nominations was jointly held by All About Eve (1950), Titanic (1997) and La La Land (2016). Another notable highlight of the 2026 ceremony is the introduction of a brand-new category: Best Casting, bringing the total number of award categories this year to 24. With awards season building up to this moment, the Oscars remain the ultimate stage where the year’s most acclaimed films, performances and creative talents are recognised. Scroll down to see the complete list of nominees and winners, which will be updated LIVE.
