a recent interview, Kashyap was asked about plans to marry Shubhra after dating her for over a decade. The filmmaker clarified that she doesn’t believe in marriage, and he is happy in the relationship and wouldn’t want to lose it. Kashyap’s previous wives, Aarti Bajaj and Kalki Koechlin, were a part of the film industry. Though Shubhra is connected to Anurag professionally too, she isn’t actively involved in the movie business.
Who is Shubhra Shetty?
According to Shubhra’s LinkedIn account, she is a Creative Consultant at Good Bad Films, which was founded by Anurag in 2009. The Mumbai-based production house is known for backing films like Dev D, Udaan, Shaitan and The Lunchbox. She has been working there since 2020. In 2015, she was employed at Phantom Studios, owned by Anurag, Madhu Mantena, Vikas Bahl, and Vikramaditya Motwane.
Anurag Kashyap and Shubhra Shetty's relationship
Shubhra met Anurag when she was in her 20s. They have an age gap of 20 years. Kashyap is 53 years old. According to reports, Shubhra and Anurag have been dating since 2015. The filmmaker confirmed his relationship with her in 2018.
In an interview with Janice Sequeira, Anurag got emotional while talking about his relationship with Shubhra. He said, “I want to be healthy enough to outlive the people I love. Because if it doesn’t happen, then what can happen after that? The ways of the world. So, I think about it a lot. But my thing is, as long as we have found what we have found now, I’m happy with anything. I don’t want to lose this.”
Anurag teared up when Shubhra said they are in their honeymoon phase. The filmmaker added that he never feared death before meeting her and now, he has something worth living for.
Anurag Kashyap's previous marriages
Anurag was previously married to editor Aarti Bajaj. They ended their six-year marriage in 2009. Anurag and Aarti have a daughter named Aaliyah Kashyap. She got married to her boyfriend, Shane Gregoire, in June 2025. Anurag’s second marriage was with actress Kalki Koechlin in 2011 after they had been dating for a while. They ended their marriage after four years. Kalki is in a live-in relationship with Guy Hershberg. She welcomed a daughter, named Sappho, in February 2020, with him.
