Prabhas and Triptii Dimri's Spirit is one of the most highly anticipated films. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film is reportedly a cop drama, set
to begin filming in February 2026. Deepika Padukone was initially the female lead. After her exit, the makers announced that Triptii had joined the film. The latest development on Spirit is that Sandeep is planning to develop it as a franchise. Moreover, it is likely to end with a cliffhanger.
Spirit to have open climax?
According to Mid-Day report, the discussions to end Spirit with a cliffhanger are underway and it will set stage for the second installment. "The makers are planning to build a world centred on Prabhas’s cop. They are exploring whether the first part can end at a cliffhanger and leave the audience eager for what comes next," a source told the tabloid.
The report further suggests that Prabhas will commence shooting for Sandeep's cop drama after The Raja Saab releases in January. It is set for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026. The first schedule of Spirit is expected to be shot in Mumbai. And later, the later will reportedly head to international locations like Mexico, Indonesia and Thailand.

"A look test was done some time ago, and the makers have zeroed in on two distinct avatars for Prabhas. There is a flashback scene, which will be shot in the Mumbai leg," the source added.
Triptii Dimri joins Spirit
On May 24 this year, Triptii expressed excitement about joining Spirit. Taking to Instagram, the actress wrote, "Still sinking in…. So grateful to be trusted with this journey Thank you sandeepreddy.vanga ..honoured to be a part of your vision."
