Last seen in the thriller Sarzameen, Kajol will be donning the black lawyers' robe for The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha. The show is coming back to JioHotstar
on September 19, 2025, for Season 2. The first season was released in July 2023. Starring Kajol in the lead role as Noyonika Sengupta, The Trial is a remake of The Good Wife .
The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha to release in September 2025
Recently, JioHotstar released a quirky video featuring Kajol announcing a comeback. In the promo video, the actress states, "Hi, I'm Kajol and I'm happy to announce that I'm coming back. Comeback, phir se?" She complains that she has been working nonstop and there's no comeback for her. Later, she checks the back of the card and announces that The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha is coming soon.
The second season has been directed by Umesh Bist and Kajol returns as Noyonika Sengupta, a housewife who resumes her law career after her husband goes to jail. Produced by Banijay Asia, The Trial's ensemble cast also features Jisshu Sengupta, Sonali Kulkarni, Sheeba Chadha, Alyy Khan, Kubbra Sait, Gaurav Pandey, and Karanvir Sharma.
