The Sholay actor explained the reason behind it, in which he stated that it has always been difficult for him to convey his feelings when contestants share their grave personal stories.

Amitabh Bachchan took to his personal Tumblr account and shared a note, in which he talked about his work as a host. For the unversed, KBC 18 makers introduced a new theme, ‘Sochna Padega’, which put the spotlight on thoughtful decision-making in an age where information is easily available.
In the show, Amitabh Bachchan often interacts with the contestants and asks them about their life stories. He shares his ideas, thoughts and experiences with the contestants. Recently, Big B opened up about his heartbreaking experience while hosting KBC 18.
The veteran actor wrote, “Some contestants come with such grave personal stories , that it becomes difficult to conduct not just our feelings for them but also to continue hosting the show. I shall not indulge more because it would take away some elements from the understanding that a host gives to the Channel ... but it has been a heart-breaking experience.” (sic)
