Sanjay Dutt calls Nana Patekar 'Brother, Friend'
Sanjay Dutt took to Instagram soon after Nana Patekar's death news broke. Mourning the tragic demise, Dutt said he still can't believe that his "brother" and "friend" is no more. The Munnabhai actor also remembered the good times with Patekar and said he will cherish the memories forever. "It's still hard to believe my brother, my friend Nana, is no more with us," Dutt wrote.
'Big loss for film industry'
According to Dutt, Patekar's death is a loss that goes far beyond his circle of friends and colleagues. "His passing is a huge loss, not just for those who knew and loved him, but for the entire film industry," added the actor. He referred to the late artist as a "remarkable actor" and "great artist." He also described him as a "special human being."
Patekar, who acted in Hindi and Marathi films for almost five decades, was recognised for his dramatic performances, unique voice and powerful delivery of dialogues. He received the Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cinema and three National Film Awards.
Sanjay Dutt prays for Patekar's family
Dutt and Patekar most notably acted in the 2007 anthology film Dus Kahaniyaan. Concluding his post, Dutt offered his thoughts and prayers to Patekar's family and loved ones as they cope with the loss. "Rest in peace, Nana," he wrote, bringing his tribute to an intimate and emotional close.

Nana Patekar passes away at 75
Nana Patekar passed away on October 8 at the age of 75 after having a heart attack at his bungalow in Dona Paula, Goa. He was sent to Manipal Hospital, where doctors tried to revive him for about 45 minutes but failed. He was certified deceased at around 5:20 am.
