What is the story about?
Prabhas' much-awaited cop-action drama Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The upcoming pan-India
project reportedly featured Triptii Dimri, Vivek Oberoi, and Prakash Raj in key roles. The film is scheduled to hit theatres next year and now, we have come across the news of Prakash Raj not joining the film. As the makers dropped Vivek Oberoi's look from the film, the social media post from the production house followed, tagging all the actors, the director, and technicians from the film. However, one name was notably absent in the list - actor Prakash Raj.
Prakash Raj out of Spirit?
Hindustan Times (HT) later confirmed the speculations of Prakash Raj leaving the film. Earlier, an OTTPlay report had claimed that after a heated exchange with director Vanga, Prakash Raj had walked out of the film. According to the report, the issue was about the script and how a scene was being shot. Now, a source has also confirmed to HT that Prakash Raj is no longer part of Spirit. There is no information on who replaces him in the film.
Meanwhile, T-Series and Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared Vivek Oberoi’s first look from Spirit. This is only the second visual from the film to be out, after the first look that featured Prabhas and Triptii Dimri and was shared on New Year’s Eve 2025.
More about Spirit
Spirit marks Prabhas' first collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and is touted as a high-voltage action drama. The actor will be seen playing an IPS officer, and an audio story glimpse released earlier showcased a gripping exchange between Prabhas and Prakash Raj. With Vivek Oberoi also part of the cast, the team is reportedly taking extra precautions to prevent leaks of Prabhas’ intense new look.
Spirit is Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ambitious project, which will feature Prabhas and Triptii Dimri opposite each other. Alongside action, the film is expected to explore a layered emotional track and a compelling romantic angle between the actor and Triptii. After Spirit, Prabhas will be seen in Fauzi, a period drama directed by Hanu Raghavapudi.
Spirit is set to release in eight languages. Produced by Bhushan Kumar under the T-Series banner, it will hit the screens on March 5, 2027.
