Spider-Man: Brand New Day registered a solid box office opening in India with a collection of Rs 60.60 crore. The MCU film, starring Tom Holland in the
lead role, hit the Indian theatres on July 30, a day before its worldwide release. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the superhero movie shattered the opening day record of Avengers: Endgame (Rs 53.10 crore). An interesting fact is that the latest Spider-Man project achieved a significant milestone within two days of its theatrical run here. It has entered the Rs 100 crore club.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day box office collection day 2 (India)
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Spider-Man: Brand New Day minted Rs 49.35 crore on day two from 16,902 shows. The superhero movie collected Rs 28 crore in English, Rs 17 crore in Hindi, Rs 70 lakh in Malayalam, Rs 2 crore in Telugu, Rs 2.25 crore in Tamil and Rs 30 lakh in Kannada.
Considering the first and second day earnings, the two-day total of Tom Holland movie stands at a whopping Rs 109.95 crore (net). On the other hand, the movie's gross collection has reached Rs 131.46 crore. On day one, the MCU movie made Rs 60.60 crore from 17, 250 shows in India.
Was Spider-Man: Brand New Day emotionally taxing for Tom?
Meanwhile, in an interview with India Today, Tom clarified that doing Spider-Man: Brand New Day wasn't emotionally taxing for him. The actor, in fact, had fun while working on this Hollywood project. "In all of our previous movies, Spider-Man and Peter Parker have had this amazing support network of lovely friends and mentors and things like that," the actor said.
He further spoke about his scenes with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon where they had fun while he was supposed to be miserable and sad. "I just felt like I was missing out. I like to have fun. I like to laugh and smile, and I wasn’t allowed to," shared Tom.

Talking about the film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day brings back Tom as Spider-Man/ Peter Parker, Zendaya as MJ and Jacob as Ned. Also featuring Sadie Sink, Mark Ruffalo and Jon Bernthal, the superhero movie opened to positive feedback froms critics and audiences in India.
On the work front, Tom was also recently seen in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey where he played the role of Telemachus. Co-starring Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway, the movie was released on July 31.
