Nana Patekar, who was last seen in Sankalp, died at the age of 75 at 5:20 AM on Thursday (October 8) after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his residence
in Goa. Revival attempts failed as 45 minutes of continuous CPR did not help. He was declared dead at Manipal Hospital in Goa’s Dona Paula. Despite being an acclaimed actor and a celebrated cinema icon, Nana led a simple lifestyle. A disciplined man who stuck to his roots, he eventually moved out of Mumbai to lead a quieter life. Contributing back to society, Patekar often participated in charitable activities and helped with relief work whenever needed.

According to GQ and The Financial Express, Nana Patekar’s net worth is estimated at Rs 80 crore. Reportedly, the actor would charge around Rs 2 to 3 crore per film, and his remuneration would largely depend on the role he was playing.

Nana Patekar rarely spoke about his family in interviews. Guarding his personal space from his professional life, his family largely stayed away from the limelight. He married Neelkanti Patekar in 1978; the couple later separated. They had two sons. One died in infancy, and the other is named Malhar Patekar.

According to reports, Nana Patekar lived in a one-bedroom apartment in Andheri, Mumbai, which was purchased for Rs 1.1 lakh and is now valued at nearly Rs 3 crore. Besides this, he built a 27-acre farmhouse in Khadakwasla near Pune with seven rooms, simple wooden interiors and terracotta flooring. He would spend time growing wheat and paddy; the proceeds went to farmers and workers. Nana also owned a house on Law College Road, Pune, a home in Goa, and a property in Murud.
