What is the story about?
Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, is one of the most anticipated releases of 2027. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the movie
was initially set for a theatrical release in December 2025. However, it will arrive on January 21 next year. The film's shoot has been going on for a while now. According to a media report, the filmmaker is apparently ready to begin Love & War's final schedule today (August 3). It has been reported that Ranbir, Alia and Vicky-starrer's shoot will wrap the film's shoot by the end of August. It's final schedule will reportedly have two war scenes and two dance numbers.
Love & War shoot update
As per Mid-Day, the last schedule of Ranbir, Alia and Vicky's Love & War will commence today at Royal Palms in Goregaon. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is apparenlty looking to wrap the shoot by August 31 as all three actors have packed schedules. As far as Ranbir is concerned, the actor is expected to commence on Ramayana's promotions after completing the SLB project. He is likely to begin the mythological epic's promotions by mid-September.
"The delays have pushed Love & War further than originally planned. Everyone has blocked out August for this final leg; beginning September, the actors will move on to their next commitments," a source told the portal.
In the final schedule, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali will reportedly shoot two war scenes and dance numbers. The war sequences will apparently involve 50 stunt performers and 300 to 350 junior artistes. As per the portal, the production team has allocated 10 rehearsal days to choreograph the combat and the crowd movement.
Ranbir Kapoor's work front
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranbir will next be seen in Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The mythological epic features him as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Yash as Ravana, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, and others. Produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash, the movie is scheduled for a big screen release on Diwali 2026.
A few days ago, the makers unveiled the official trailer of Ramayana on social media. It introduced audiences to Ranbir, Yash, Ravie, and Sai's characters. Arun Govil plays the role of King Dashrath in the movie. Next year, the second installment, Ramayana: Part 2, will be out for audiences to watch on Diwali.
